According to this quiz, I am a Digital Design Jedi Apprentice (DDJA for short), which is exactly the jumble of words I was hoping for. Going into this quiz, I was well aware of my strengths (social media, blogging, rhetoric and composition, photo composition and editing, etc.) and my “needs improvement” skills (audio production, video editing, etc.), so the outcome was a bit lackluster; however, I am grateful to have finally answered my original question, albeit with a much longer title, and to have the opportunity to expand upon the quiz and the end result as a whole.
First, I would like to point out that I do, in fact, know how to use the dodge tool, so there’s something you didn’t account for, Buzzfeed. Ha. Try to dodge that one.
Second, I noticed that the gif from the second question was from a website called dearvagina.com, which is now defunct, and I am livid that I will never know what beautiful content it once held.
Overall, I believe that the quiz did what it set out to do: give the users a fair understanding of their digital literacy while also utilizing an amusing pop culture theme to make it stand out and entertain. It’s obviously not trying to be taken seriously like an actual skill assessment, so for what it is, I think it’s good. But, don’t take this DDJA’s word for it; try it out for yourself. Maybe you’ll be a Jedi Master, and maybe these aren’t the droids you’re looking for.
Thanks for reading.
